An Evening in an Italian Piazza: Preview Evening at the 2026 Glenshiel Fair

This year, Preview Evening at the Glenshiel Fair takes on a distinctly Italian flavour.

On Wednesday, 28 October, Glenshiel Estate will open its gates for the first evening of the 2026 Fair, with Settebello bringing the atmosphere and generosity of an Italian piazza to Westcliff.

Rather than a traditional catered evening, guests can expect a more relaxed, interactive food experience, with generous harvest tables, roaming Italian bites and chefs cooking throughout the evening.

A taste of Italy at Glenshiel

Settebello’s menu has been designed around the way Italians love to eat — good food, shared generously and enjoyed in good company.

Harvest tables laden with Italian cheeses, charcuterie, breads and antipasti will set the scene, while live cooking stations will bring the evening to life. Guests will be able to watch fresh pasta being prepared, pizza coming from the oven, porchetta being carved and arrosticini cooking over the grill.

And there will, of course, be something sweet to finish.

It’s a departure from the more traditional Preview Evening format, and one we think suits Glenshiel beautifully: less about a formal catered meal and more about moving through the evening, trying something different and enjoying the Fair as it opens around you.

Boutique wines and bubbles from Appellation Wines

Appellation Wines will join us for the evening, bringing boutique wines and bubbles from Zevenwacht and Thistle & Weed.

Founded in 2011 by winemaker Janine Shearer, Appellation works with a select collection of South African wine producers, built around long-standing relationships and a shared appreciation for well-made wines.

Guests will be able to enjoy their selection throughout the evening alongside Settebello’s Italian food offering.

Of course, Preview Evening is also about the Fair itself.

It’s the first opportunity to browse this year’s stalls, with returning favourites and new names across fashion, jewellery, homeware, beauty, textiles, gourmet food and more.

With the House and gardens ready for the days ahead, Preview Evening gives guests the chance to experience Glenshiel after hours, enjoy the food and wine, and have the first look at what this year’s Fair has to offer.
